Meet Lawrence
Lawrence Schwartz is an award-winning filmmaker and retired television producer (NBC News), print journalist (New York Post), and educator (Rutgers University, New York City schools). He is passionately committed to perpetuating the heroic legacy of our World War II veterans. He is a member of the National History Honor Society, and serves on the Advisory Board of the World War II History Conference at Dominican University in New York. Lawrence is also a Founding Charter Member of the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, and belongs to the Organization of American Historians, and the National Council for History Education. He is currently working on his new film, which explores contemporary antisemitism.
Awards
"Oh, Johnny!" received the award for Best Documentary at the Northeast Film Festival (September 2024) and Best Short Documentary at the Jersey Shore Film Festival (July 2024) and the New York Long Island Film Festival (October 2024). "Oh, Johnny!" also received the Honor Award at the Veterans Film Festival in Los Angeles (November 2024) and was selected to close the festival.
